Jan’s counselling approach is respectful and compassionate. She understands that everyone’s experience is unique and works with patients to help them develop new and creative ways of coping with the challenges of fertility treatment.

Jan is a counselling psychologist who has been providing support for City Fertility Centre patients since 2006. She has a Master of Counselling degree from La Trobe University (1995), and is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Infertility Counsellors Association (ANZICA) and the Australian Psychological Society (APS). She also completed a family therapy internship at Copelen Child and Family Services, South Yarra.
Over more than 20 years, Jan has gained experience counselling individuals and couples in a variety of settings, including community health centres, the prison system, university and private practice. Her counselling draws on a number of therapeutic orientations, including narrative and solutions-focused therapies; a problem-solving, cognitive-behavioural approach; and existential, mindfulness and humanistic therapies.
